About
At the center of 'Amplified Silence', stands an Electro-acoustic installation. Six well-known musicians from the experimental scene in Israel will present original solo works, along with a new ensemble piece, all in a dialogue with the sound installation.
Playing from inside the water tower, the musicians aim to create a circular dialogue with the feedback of their playing and the space using personal improvisation disciplines.
The sound installation is an unconventional amplification system, designed to emphasize standing frequencies - to amplify the space into itself and create a dynamic and musical feedback system. The uniqueness of the installation stems from the narrow and tall tower interior, in which an array of speakers and microphones are spread out in a jumble - contrary to the norm, in which the separation between them is important precisely in order to avoid the feedback phenomenon.

במרכז המופע 'מגבירים את השקט' מיצב אלקטרו-אקוסטי בתוך מגדל מים.
שבעה מוסיקאים מוכרים מהסצנה האקספרימנטלית בישראל יציגו עבודות סולניות מקוריות לצד יצירת אנסמבל חדשה, כולן בדיאלוג עם המיצב החי: באמצעות נגינה עם, ובתוך מגדל המים, יכוונו המוסיקאים ליצור דיאלוג מעגלי עם הפידבק -לופ מתוך דיסציפלינת ההקשבה המוסיקלית והאלתור.
המיצב הינו מערכת הגברה לא קונוונציונלית המעוצבת להבליט תדרים עומדים - להגביר את החלל אל תוך עצמו וליצור מערכת פידבק דינמית ומוסיקלית. הייחודיות של המיצב נובעת ממבנה המגדל הצר והגבוה שבתוכו ייפרס מערך של רמקולים ומיקרופונים בערבוביה - בניגוד למקובל בו ההפרדה ביניהם חשובה דווקא כדי להימנע מתופעת הפידבק.
היצירה חצי האי עם המבט לאוקיינוס מאת שירה לגמן, לאנסמבל ומיצב אלקטרו-אקוסטי במגדל המים, מציגה חמש דינמיקות שיח מגוונות במרחב סגור. השאלות העולות טבועות בסנטימנט שבין המוסיקאים הנוכחים והפסנתר הנעדר אל מול חלל עם מערכת הדהוד עצמאית ובלתי צפוייה.
היצירה כתובה לויברפון, קלרינט, סקסופון, קונטרבס, נבל, הקלטות פסנתר ומיצב הסאונד.

לאור מגבלות השעה, המופע יועלה בלייב בקבוצת הפייסבוק של מוסיקה נובה ושל מרכז ההנצחה בקרית טבעון.

על המקום
מגדל המים בטבעון הינו חלל גלילי גבוה ובעל חמש קומות הניצב במרכז שכונת קרית עמל, טבעון.
הוא תוכנן בשנת 1938 ע"י המהנדס דב פטישי בכדי לענות על צרכי הבטחון שגברו ביישוב ועל בעיית אספקת מים סדירה לתושבים: "החלטתי לצוד שתי ציפורים במכה אחת ותכננתי את מגדל המים כך ש-12 המ' הראשונים יהיו בריכת מים ומעליהם חדר שמירה שאשנביו ישמשו כעמדות תצפית וירי". (ד.פטישי)
המגדל נבנה ע"י תושבי השכונה תוך שלושה ימים ונחנך באפריל 1940, לאחר שמלאו את בריכה בו במים.
כיום משמש המגדל כאתר מורשת וכחלל גלריה פתוח לציבור הרחב.
